Overview
As the HR Manager for our construction company in Nungambakkam, you will play a crucial role in leading the human resource's function and driving the overall HR strategy. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of HR, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, compliance, and strategic workforce planning. This role is vital in ensuring the company attracts, develops, and retains top talent while fostering a positive and inclusive work environment.
Key responsibilities
- Develop and implement HR strategies and initiatives aligned with the overall business strategy
- Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, and onboarding
- Manage employee relations, addressing grievances, and resolving conflicts to maintain a positive work environment
- Lead performance management processes, including goal setting, regular reviews, and performance improvement plans
- Ensure compliance with labor regulations and internal policies, keeping abreast of changes in labor laws
- Spearhead strategic workforce planning, identifying future staffing needs and developing retention programs
- Establish and maintain compensation and benefits programs to attract and retain top talent
- Collaborate with senior management to create a culture of continuous learning and professional development
- Lead initiatives to enhance diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization
- Advise on and lead negotiations with labor unions and external labor vendors
- Drive employee engagement and morale through effective communication and recognition programs
- Develop HR policies and procedures to support the company's overall mission and objectives
- Manage and oversee HR analytics and reporting, providing insights to drive data-based decision-making
- Lead and manage a high-performing HR team, ensuring their professional growth and development
- Serve as a trusted advisor to management on all HR-related matters
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or relevant field; Master's degree preferred
- Proven experience as an HR leader, preferably in the construction or related industry
- In-depth knowledge of labor legislation and regulations
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organizational goals
- Strong experience in talent acquisition, including sourcing and selecting top candidates
- Excellent understanding of performance management and employee relations
- Experience in managing compensation, benefits, and payroll processes
- Proven track record in implementing diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels
- Unwavering commitment to ethical behavior and confidentiality
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with a focus on fostering a collaborative and inclusive workplace
- Solid ability to analyze data, draw insights, and make data-driven decisions
- Certification such as SHRM-SCP or SPHR would be a plus
- Proficiency in HRIS and other HR-related software
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines
