A hostess, or host, is responsible for ensuring that guests have a positive experience when they enter a restaurant or other establishment. Their duties include:
Greeting guests: Welcoming guests and providing excellent hospitality
Managing reservations: Taking reservations and assigning guests to tables or the waiting area
Providing wait times: Giving guests accurate wait time estimates
Guiding guests: Escorting guests to their tables or the waiting area
Providing menus: Giving guests menus and server information
Answering questions: Answering phone calls and customer inquiries
Helping wait staff: Assisting restaurant staff when necessary
Maintaining cleanliness: Keeping tables, chairs, and dining sets clean and organized
Handling special needs: Catering to guests who require special attention, such as children or the elderly
