Host/ess-Pla Pla

About The Role

The Host/ess is an essential member of the Food & Beverage team dedicated to providing exceptional quality and service to our guests. By nature of the position, the host/ess is the guest's first impression of the restaurant. This Host/ess greets guests promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, and a smile. Utilizing Open Table, the Host/ess takes reservations, reviews the daily reservation book and has the ability to seat guests without reservations. The Host/ess has a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for that day. A principle role within the restaurant, the Host/ess is familiar with server stations, their daily assignments, their personal timing patterns and their maximum workload capacity. The Host/ess is also familiar with frequent guests and knows their names and preferences.

The position reports to the Restaurant Manager.

What You Will Do

  • Set up the host/hostess stand, review the reservation book and make recommendations as to the set up of the room
  • Open the restaurant for business at the prescribed time each shift
  • Inspect the cleanliness of each section of the dining room and the private dining rooms and make necessary improvements as well as check each table prior to opening to ensure its proper set
  • Pick up the daily menus and insert them properly in their covers
  • Inspect every menu and list to ensure their condition and appearance
  • Develop a complete working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for the day
  • Assign seating taking into account service standards
  • Greet each guest promptly, courteously, graciously with eye contact, a smile and good posture.
  • Be able to multitask and work simultaneously with other departments
  • Monitor and share guest preference with respective team members to ensure they are recorder within internal systems
  • Be able to support service team and record guest orders and if needed serving same with accuracy

What You Bring

  • Must have existing work authorization to work in the country of Thailand
  • Proficient in English communication
  • Excellent personal presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Confident outgoing personality and a can-do approach to any request
  • High level of wine and food knowledge
  • Working knowledge of the Micros system is essential

Schedule & Hours

  • This is a full-time position
  • The working hours will primarily be early morning, days, during weekdays and weekends.
