Perform detailed cost analysis of mechanical components and products throughout the manufacturing lifecycle utilizing Client`s own costing engine.
Calibrate Client's costing engine. Develop and maintain cost estimation models, when required, databases, and tools to support accurate and efficient costing analysis.
Analyze product designs and manufacturing processes to identify cost drivers and areas for cost reduction, applying zero-based costing principles.
Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and emerging technologies in the manufacturing sector to inform cost estimation strategies.
Analyze and report on cost estimation results, including cost breakdowns, cost variance analysis, and cost reduction initiatives.
Lead client cost optimization projects and initiatives to drive continuous improvement in manufacturing processes and cost efficiency.
Provide guidance and mentorship to junior should costing engineers, sharing best practices and knowledge.
Qualifications
Minimum of five years of experience in should costing, cost estimation, or cost engineering roles within the manufacturing industry. We value direct shop floor experience.
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Proficient in using should costing methodologies, tools, and software applications for accurate cost estimation.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex cost data and identify cost drivers.
Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present cost analysis findings and recommendations to stakeholders.
Proven ability to lead and drive cost optimization projects, delivering measurable results.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
Nice To Have
Experience in Design-to-Cost (DTC) methodologies to optimize product designs for cost efficiency without compromising quality or performance.
Utilize CAD applications (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PTC Creo) to analyze and validate design changes for cost reduction, ensuring manufacturability and functionality.
Expertise in zero-based costing methodologies and experience applying them to optimize product costs and manufacturing processes.
