This is an exciting opportunity with Mott MacDonald health and safety team, with duty for prominent the Unit in identifying improvements in health, safety, security & wellbeing across the business. We are looking for a motivated, proactive single, focused on adding value to the business, through strategic thinking, implementation of key development plans and effective engagement with staff and management to maintain and improve performance.
The role is essential to our business in assessing not only compliance with our system and external standards, but also identifying how we can improve what we do. It is an opportunity to make a difference to how we work on our projects, in our offices and how we interact with our customers.
Candidate specification: -
- Should have minimum 10-15 years of relevant work experience.
- Reporting to the Unit GM on H&S performance, including study of trends and issues arising from incident reports, audits and the dissemination of lessons learned as appropriate.
- Prepare and communicate monthly H&S reports for the Unit General Manager and Executive, incorporating appropriate contribution from each Division.
- Developing a lively and improving safety culture across the Division / Unit
- Act as the SMM Unit Serious Incident / Pandemic Coordinator with Group & Region
- Providing regular health & safety advice and information for staff and managers in the Unit.
- Promote effective and timely communication of relevant HSSW information within the Unit.
- Assist with project WIN bids and DO implementation stages, including client relationship meetings.
- Upkeep portfolios in closing out H&S non-conformities and escalating issues where necessary.
- To take on or manage internal incident or accident investigations when required.
- To keep abreast of developments in relevant legislation and practice, and act upon any changes accordingly
- To work with the Unit HR team, as required, to ensure employment policies and other HR requirements are incorporated required HSSW requirements across South Asia
- Promote and improve incident reporting and positive interventions across the SMM unit.
- Direct HSE reporting requirements with the Unit's Business Management Systems Manager.
- Manage Unit HSSW objectives in line with Regional and Group requirements.
- Tip Audits and inspection of offices and sites within the SMM Unit.
- Undertake HSSW related training and mentoring as required.
- Liaise with the enforcement authorities and other bodies as necessary to protect and develop the SMM Unit.
- Liaise with the Regional and Group Safety Managers as required.
- Represent SMM Unit on all HSSW matters.
- Ensure any serious incidents are raised to relevant stakeholders within specified time limits.
