About the Position:
The Communications and Outreach Office shows and tells CEPT's stories in order to engage and inspire audiences, elevate the image of the University, and create lasting connections for and with its community. They partner closely with various campus audiences-from the president, deans and faculty members, to staff, students and alumni-as well as external media organizations who can amplify CEPT's important contributions across a wide range of subjects.
CEPT University invites applications for the position of Head/Senior Manager- Communications and Outreach. The role will lead the communications and outreach office which is responsible for all outreach and communication activities including managing the University's online platforms, graphics and printing, press relations, event documentation and any other marketing/branding activities carried out at the University. This position also focuses on admission outreach by creating and implementing strategies to increase the university's visibility and appeal to potential students across various demographics and geographies.
We are looking for a professional who can lead a team, preferably with strong visual, language and team management skills who can deliver quality work in a timely manner.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of comprehensive communication strategy for the University and its programs. Work with the Communications team on all aspects of campaign development including content development, design, digital strategy, and more
- Provide strategic communications counsel and assist in the development of communications materials for University leadership
- Devise and execute comprehensive admission outreach plans, working closely with the deans and senior leadership of the University to connect with potential students through various channels, including but not limited to social media, in-person events, admission fairs, and partnerships with educational institutions.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and evaluation of outreach events such as open houses, information sessions, and recruitment fairs to attract prospective students.
- Oversee and guide the work of primary press liaison for through the provision of information and promotion of the university and its programs
- Build and maintain affiliations with external stakeholders and media outlets to ensure effective relationships are developed with key personnel and organizations, both nationally and internationally
- Lead and oversee the generation of positive media coverage on other university-related events, including student events and activities
- Work with the content and digital team on identifying and managing content production across different communications platforms
- Be responsible for internal and external communications including producing content and copyediting of reports, publications, press releases, and media announcements, ensuring effective delivery of information to appropriate sources
- Produce reports and presentations as required, tracking major university highlights for key audiences, continually reviewing tracking methods and presenting activity information to ensure best practice is maintained
- Work with the design team on marketing and collateral development on print and multimedia channels, and reviewing promotional materials produced by departments across the University
- Analyze, recommend, and implement changes and improvements to communications and strategies. Use metrics to assess and report on the success of campaigns and provide recommendations for improvements and adjustments.
- Ensure integration of various communications channels and tactics for the most effective and efficient communications outcomes
- Provide strategic leadership and delivery of student recruitment for all geographies, across all levels of study (undergraduate, postgraduate, doctoral and professional programs) and modalities (in-person, online and hybrid).
This position requires substantial travel to serve as a university representative at events, conferences, and meetings to promote the University's programs, values, and other important offerings.
Academic Qualification & Experience:
- Master's degree in media relations, journalism, marketing or a related field from a well-recognized University/institute
- Minimum of 12-15 years experience in the related field with a particular focus in the areas of strategic marketing management, public relations, admission outreach and communications. Substantial experience in senior management role in the above areas will be preferred.
Expertise Required:
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement complex strategic communications plans, strategies, and campaigns with excellent writing, editing and oral communication skills in English
- Previous experience in a higher education institution/university is preferred
- Relevant experience in working with schools, institutions, universities, and students, preferably in an outreach context is desirable.
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills with meeting set deadlines and attention to detail is essential
- Strong understanding of brand and storytelling skills with refined visual aesthetics
- Hands on experience in managing national and image-based media efforts, routine and ongoing local/regional media efforts, crisis communications, print and online news publications, social media etc.
