The role will help create and support sustainable Material Sourcing that delivers both short, medium and long-term value to the Business. A key part of the role will be to integrate the current procurement teams with strategically streamlined structure and to ensure long-term continuity of sourcing operations.
Key Accountabilities:
- The key responsibilities of the role would be to meet the long-term demands as per agreed service levels, manage working capital components of inventory and vendor payments, and optimally source all components for commercial and new products. To ensure supplier quality assurance, reduce supply risks, lead the team to deliver stretch targets and continually improve processes to achieve the company growth targets.
- Strategize & Drive Sourcing & Procurement Function for the Manufacturing and R&D- New Product Development in terms of process improvements & innovation to create a strong and stable vendor base for all critical dependencies.
- Manage the development of short, medium and long term Supply Chain strategy ensuring it is aligned with Business and Purchasing strategies
- Assess risk factors to ensure minimum cost exposure to Business and take appropriate action to ensure exposure is kept to an absolute minimum.
- Lead and engage all critical vendors through a long-term supply / purchase agreements by negotiating and minimizing the impact of critical supply risks, binding global vendors on consistent and sustainable supplies. Working closely with legal teams considering aspects such as supply continuity, indemnity, pricing and non-supply penalties.
- Manage contract negotiations for all vendors ensuring cost, quality; service targets and standards are achieved demonstrating competitive advantage to the Business as a result.
- Negotiate at manufacturer level and ensure cost transparency and net costs. Ensure that a detailed plan to implement the Supply Chain strategy is in place in line with the business requirements and conclude to Orders completion
- Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders, including Business Unit, Plant, R&D, SCM and Regulatory teams. Strong collaborations needed with project Management, Planning, Legal and IP teams.
- Develop strong relationships with Suppliers and Distributors and establish effective measurement criteria for performance review and continued improvement.
- Work closely within the supply chain and finance teams to ensure that the financial impact of any sourcing activity highlighted. Ensure Purchasing data is robust, relevant and communicated internally in a timely manner
- The successful candidate will have experience of strategic Sourcing in a variety of categories, ideally gained within a complex international business (i.e. multiple sectors, multiple markets and multiple countries).
Qualification & Experience: Graduate / MBA with 15+ years of experience in Procurement (Pharma Industry)
