Roles & Responsibilities :
The Head of Design Department is responsible for leading and managing the design team within the company. This role involves overseeing all aspects of design from concept to completion, ensuring that projects meet the highest standards of quality, creativity, and functionality. The Head of Design will collaborate with other departments, clients, and stakeholders to deliver innovative and efficient design solutions that align with the company's objectives and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Leadership and Management:Lead, mentor, and manage the design team, fostering a creative and collaborative work environment. Set clear goals, provide feedback, and conduct performance evaluations for design team members. Ensure the professional development of the design team through training, workshops, and continuous learning opportunities.
2. Project Management: Oversee the planning, design, and implementation of various construction projects. Ensure all design projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. Coordinate with project managers, architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure seamless project execution.
3. Design Development: Lead the development of design concepts and strategies that align with the company's vision and goals. Review and approve design proposals, ensuring they meet client requirements and industry standards. - Stay up to date with the latest design trends, materials, and technologies to incorporate into projects.
4. Client Interaction: Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and preferences, translating them into effective design solutions. Present design concepts and proposals to clients, addressing any concerns or feedback they may have. Maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.
5. Quality Control: Implement and maintain design standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all projects. Conduct regular design reviews and audits to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Address any design-related issues or challenges promptly and effectively.
6. Resource Management: Develop and manage the design departments team, ensuring efficient allocation of resources. Identify and procure necessary materials, tools, and software for the design team. Monitor project costs and adjust as needed to stay within budget constraints.
7. Statutory Approvals: Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and national regulations and obtain necessary statutory approvals. Coordinate with relevant authorities such as CMDA (Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority), Fire Department, PWD (Public Works Department), and EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) to secure required permits and clearances. Keep abreast of changes in regulatory requirements and ensure timely updates and modifications to project plans and designs.
8. Collaboration and Communication: Foster effective communication and collaboration between the design team and other departments such as Sales, CRM, Engineering, Contracts, Accounts and Marketing. Participate in regular meetings with senior management to discuss project progress, challenges, and opportunities. Represent the design department in company-wide initiatives and strategic planning sessions.

Applicants with Experience in Architectural design ( Real Estate development projects ) are preferred
