About the Role:
The Head of Sports Nutrition will lead the development and implementation of a world-class nutrition strategy aligned with IIS's mission to craft Olympic champions. The role requires strategic, clinical, and operational leadership, overseeing the IIS Sports Nutrition Team while providing individualized nutrition support to athletes and driving innovations in sports nutrition practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and Management:
- Develop and implement a world-class nutrition strategy for IIS.
- Lead, manage, and mentor the Sports Nutrition Team, including hiring, performance evaluations, and training.
- Align nutrition goals with IIS's high-performance mission.
Nutrition Support:
- Advise athletes on training, competition, recovery, hydration, and weight management.
- Create personalized meal and snack plans for athletes.
- Analyze dietary practices, body composition, and energy balance to optimize performance.
- Identify and address nutrition-related challenges.
Administration and Coordination:
- Maintain comprehensive electronic nutritional records on the IIS Athlete Management System.
- Facilitate regular multidisciplinary meetings to ensure seamless communication.
- Monitor and evaluate the longitudinal impact of nutrition interventions.
Planning and Teamwork:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated support for athletes.
- Organize and manage weekly schedules for the nutrition team.
- Ensure nutritional interventions align with the technical and skill demands of each sport.
Research and Innovation:
- Lead applied research and establish innovative clinical pathways in sports nutrition.
- Develop sports-specific profiling benchmarks for athletes.
- Drive professional development initiatives for the nutrition team.
Other Responsibilities:
- Perform additional duties as required by the Advisory Board or IIS leadership.
Requirements:
- Master's Degree in Sports Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field.
- Minimum 7 years of experience working in sports nutrition.
- Experience with international-level athletes and knowledge of anti-doping regulations.
- Experience using Athlete Management Systems.
- Experience in a national team, multi-sport, or high-performance institute environment.
- Leadership experience managing a team of nutritionists.
- Published research in sports nutrition.
