Company: Digital Media Agency (part of global Media agency giant)

Designation: Head of Technology (we are looking for a seasoned Software Development professional/leader only This is NOT an IT operations / IT Project management / DevOps / role)

Office location: Mumbai (5 day workweek)

Key Responsibilities:

As the Head of Technology, your primary objective is to ensure that the company's technology strategy aligns with its overall business strategy. You will serve as the bridge between technology and business, translating complex technical concepts into strategic decisions that drive business success. Other areas of responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Establishing Technical Foundations: You will oversee the selection of technology platforms and tools, guiding the team in leveraging available resources effectively to visualize and develop products.
• Driving Innovation: Through research and continuous improvement efforts, you will contribute to intellectual property creation and innovation within the organization.
• Aligning with Business Requirements: You will collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand opportunities for technology-driven solutions, bringing a strategic perspective to technological differentiation and market needs.
• Establishing Methodologies: You will promote a culture of progressive learning and establish a predictable model for envisioning, designing, and developing products and services.
• Ensuring Architectural Best Practices: You will define and enforce best practices within the development team, conducting code quality reviews to maintain high performance and minimize technical debt.
• Managing Tech Roadmaps: You will collaborate with stakeholders to build, manage, and validate technology roadmaps for products, adapting strategies as needed to meet evolving market demands.

Role Responsibilities:

• Planning and task assignment, ensuring timely project completion.
• Utilizing project management tools for efficient project management.
• Participating in client meetings to gather requirements and provide updates.
• Facilitating innovation within the business teams by introducing new technologies.
• Documentation in compliance with established processes, including BRS, SRS, HLD, and LLD.
• Team management and process implementation to streamline daily operations.

Experience & competencies required:

• Proficiency in PHP/MySQL, Angular JavaScript, jQuery, and Memcached.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in PHP/MySQL development.
• Strong understanding of MVC design patterns and frameworks (CodeIgniter / Zend / Laravel).
• Solid grasp of object-oriented programming principles.
• Extensive experience with MySQL, including writing and optimizing SQL queries.
• Familiarity with mobile platforms and social APIs such as Facebook, Twitter, and Gmail.
• Knowledge of version control systems like GIT and SVN.
