Job Objective:
The Head of Procurement will lead and manage the procurement function for the home textiles sheeting business, ensuring timely, cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. This role involves optimizing procurement processes, strengthening supplier relationships, and implementing strategic initiatives that align with the company's long-term objectives, ultimately supporting operational efficiency and cost control.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Procurement:
- Develop and implement long-term cost reduction strategies for raw materials and outsourcing in alignment with organizational goals.
- Identify and pursue opportunities for strategic partnerships, global sourcing, and supplier consolidation to drive cost efficiencies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure a reliable and efficient supply chain.
- Collaborate on joint initiatives with suppliers to enhance quality, reduce lead times, and improve performance.
- Proactively identify and mitigate procurement risks, including supply chain disruptions and quality concerns, with contingency plans and diversified supplier sources.
Operational Excellence:
- Monitor and control raw material costs (particularly yarn and outsourced components) as a percentage of revenue, using strategies like negotiation, bulk purchasing, or alternative sourcing to manage costs while ensuring quality.
- Implement inventory management systems and just-in-time (JIT) principles to balance cost-efficiency with availability.
- Establish a supplier rating system based on quality, reliability, cost, and responsiveness to continuously improve supplier performance.
