Position Overview:
The Head of the Process Department is responsible for overseeing all process-related activities in the production of high-efficiency solar cells. This role involves managing the process of commissioning, optimization, and quality assurance to achieve top-tier efficiency and reliability standards. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in solar cell manufacturing, process development, and team management.
Key Responsibilities:
Process Management and Optimization:
- Oversee all process activities, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency.
- Inspect and approve the commissioning stages for individual processes before ramp-up.
- Develop and implement strategies for the highest cell efficiency, yield, and reliability while minimizing manufacturing costs.
Technical Documentation and Analysis:
- Draft and present technical documents, including benchmark studies, deviation sheets, and trend analyses, to senior management.
- Conduct material characterization, device analysis, and technical analysis using tools like Mini-Tab and Microsoft Excel to enhance product quality and line stability.
Vendor and Material Management:
- Perform trials with different vendors for materials like paste, wafers, screens, and equipment to optimize cost and efficiency.
- Evaluate and select alternative suppliers to meet quality and cost requirements.
- Summarize material consumption and develop strategies for further improvement.
Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Conduct audits to ensure process quality, close audit findings, and create detailed audit reports.
- Implement corrective and preventive actions to resolve process issues promptly.
- Ensure production of new products meets approved specifications through close coordination with Engineering and Operations.
Documentation and Training:
- Establish and maintain documentation, including Work Instructions (W.I.), Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), data collection, and traceability records.
- Provide training and development for managers, assistant managers, senior engineers, and engineers on process methodologies and characterization tools.
Project Management and Reporting:
- Lead process-related projects from conception to completion, including efficiency improvements and cost reduction initiatives.
- Prepare and present Management Information System (MIS) reports on process performance.
- Coordinate with government bodies for cell certification and compliance with standards like ALMM.
Achievements and Ongoing Projects:
- Successfully integrated processes within 40 days, achieving significant efficiency milestones.
- Developed industry-leading methodologies and optimized multiple process stages.
- Engaged in projects to reduce material usage and enhance cell efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
- Extensive experience in solar cell manufacturing, particularly in process development and optimization.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale production units, with a focus on efficiency and quality.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in using statistical tools and data analysis software.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to train and develop staff.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and quality assurance practices in the solar energy industry.
