Head of Operations (Dry Bulk)

We are currently seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team in the role of a Head of Operations (Dry Bulk) based in our Mumbai Office.

As a Head of Operations (Dry Bulk) reporting to Global Division Head(s), your key responsibilities will be to manage a team of Operational employees handling global operations, closely monitoring and ensure that the team fulfills the requirements of all fixtures, whether spot voyages, CoA or TCs.

Details of your responsibilities:

• Supervise, train and guide Operations Executives & CP Team to perform their duties and responsibilities effectively
• Monitor emails pertaining to all fixtures and attend to all operational related queries & manage/ have a good overview of all fixtures
• Monitor voyage progress and highlight potential causes of concern to Owners/ Charterers
• Ensure that Operations team coordinate and monitor the full fixture cycle to ensure that standards are maintained

Qualities required for this role:

• Professional degree or certification
• More than 8 years of related experience in the maritime industry in a managerial position
• Excellent in people management
• International working experience is a must
• Proficient in English: written & communication
• IT savvy: proficient in compiling reports & MS Office
• Strong communication, interpersonal & analytical skills
• Able to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Good understanding of the global shipping markets
• Mature & trustworthy, willing to take ownership of projects & responsibilities
• Demonstrate commitment & dedication

Setting the expectations:

• Need to be on-site in our Mumbai office with the team
• The job will require work outside of normal hours since the shipping market never sleeps
• A large degree of responsibility and trust will be placed in you so you will have to be self-driven
