K Corp is a multidimensional company under which is a group entity of Baby Marine Ventures. K Corp, among its many facets is a leader in the quarry industry, specialising in the extraction and distribution of Granite Building Stone and allied products. K Corp has forayed into diverse business interests including but not limited to Venture Capital, Capital Markets, Real Estate, Production and Distribution of Movies. As a growing organisation, we are seeking a dynamic and experienced person to lead the finance department and drive the financial strategy to support the continued growth and success.
  • Job Summary:

The Head of Finance will be responsible for managing the financial actions of K Corp. This includes tracking cash flow, financial planning, analysing the company's financial strengths and weaknesses, and proposing strategic directions. The Head of Finance will also oversee all finance personnel, ensure compliance with tax systems, actively engage in negotiations with banks, and raise capital for expansion and operations.
  • Key Responsibilities:
Financial Strategy and Planning: Develop and implement strategies to drive financial growth and sustainability, including long-term financial planning and budget preparation.
Financial Management: Oversee all financial operations, ensuring accuracy and integrity in financial reporting and managing cash flow to maintain liquidity.Capital Raising and Fund Management: Identify and secure funding opportunities, establish relationships with financial institutions, and manage equity and debt financing.
  • Negotiation with Banks: Lead negotiations with banks and financial institutions to secure favorable terms and manage credit exposure.
Tax Compliance and Optimization: Ensure compliance with tax regulations, develop tax strategies, and oversee tax planning and reporting.
Investment Management: Manage investment portfolios, develop investment strategies, and oversee engagement with capital markets.Team Leadership: Lead and develop the finance team, promoting a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate financial risks, develop policies and procedures for financial controls, and oversee audits and insurance programs.
Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary contact for financial matters, prepare and present financial reports, and manage investor relations.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets.Operational Efficiency: Collaborate with other departments to improve operational efficiency, support technology solutions, and manage company assets.
  • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and develop strategic partnerships, negotiate joint ventures, and evaluate potential acquisitions.
Performance Monitoring: Develop and monitor key performance indicators, conduct performance reviews, and implement improvement plans.
Corporate Governance: Align financial practices with corporate governance standards, oversee financial disclosures, and provide strategic input.Technology and Innovation: Implement financial technologies, support digital transformation, and promote innovation within the finance department.
  • ESG Reporting: Develop and implement ESG reporting frameworks and strategies to improve ESG performance.
Annual and Quarterly Reports Preparation: Oversee the preparation of financial reports and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Budgeting and Forecasting: Lead the budgeting process, develop financial forecasts, and monitor budget variances.Cost Management and Optimization: Identify cost-saving opportunities, develop cost control measures, and optimize cost management strategies.
  • Audit and Internal Controls: Oversee audit processes, develop internal controls, and ensure compliance with audit recommendations.
Investor Relations: Maintain relationships with investors, prepare financial information for investors, and develop investor relations strategies.
Financial Reporting and Analysis: Ensure accurate financial reporting, provide financial analysis, and develop reporting tools.M&A Activities: Lead financial due diligence for mergers and acquisitions, evaluate financial implications, and coordinate M&A processes.
  • Compliance and Ethical Standards: Ensure compliance with financial laws, develop policies for ethical behavior, and conduct compliance training.
Cash Management: Oversee cash management operations, develop strategies for cash reserves, and manage foreign exchange and interest rate risk.
Training and Development: Identify training needs, develop training programs, and promote professional development within the finance team.Financial Systems and Tools: Oversee financial systems, ensure data integrity, and implement new technologies and tools.
  • Managing CAPEX: Oversee capital expenditures, evaluate CAPEX proposals, and monitor CAPEX projects.
Development of Policies and SOPs: Develop and maintain financial policies and standard operating procedures, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications:
  • Education:
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • MBA or relevant Master's degree preferred.
CPA or CFA certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience:
Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible financial leadership roles.
  • Proven experience in the quarry, mining, or related industry preferred.
Demonstrated experience in negotiating with banks and financial institutions.
  • Successful track record of raising capital and managing investor relations.
Experience in managing multi-location operations.
  • Skills:
Strong analytical, strategic planning, and organisational skills.
  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
Superior negotiation and communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
