About the Role:
The success of Wealth and Personal Banking has solidified their position as one of the world's largest and fastest-growing wealth franchises. Their Tech Enabler Platforms support all Value Streams and markets, ensuring 40 million clients can bank safely and securely globally.
Role Overview:
Reporting to the CIO Enabler Platforms, the Head of Engineering Automation will oversee Engineering Practices, Automation, APIs, and Infrastructure Delivery SVS teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Infrastructure Delivery: Lead a global team providing end-to-end infrastructure project support for key digital platforms.
- API Ecosystem: Oversee a centralized API team, enabling developers to accelerate solution design and development.
- Agile and DevOps Leadership: Guide teams using agile methodologies and DevOps approaches for continuous integration and delivery.
- Service and Controls: Maintain governance and control to ensure compliance with guidelines.
- Strategic Priorities: Develop clear strategic priorities to deliver new features and services within Value Streams.
- Vulnerability Management: Form a best-in-class team to ensure digital infrastructure is secure and reliable.
- Team Building: Build and motivate a high-performing team, recognizing and communicating success.
Role Context:
- Collaborate with various tech leads, architecture, and risk teams to drive automation and engineering improvements.
- Work closely with WPB Technology CIOs, COO & Platform CTOs.
- Manage direct and indirect reports across multiple locations.
- Ensure fair treatment of clients and reassess operational risks regularly.
Internal Controls:
- Adhere to internal controls and compliance policies.
- Implement audit points and address areas of concern.
- Foster a compliance culture and optimize relations with regulators.
Requirements:
- Proven success in senior technology leadership roles within complex financial services.
- Deep technical expertise in software development, architecture, and infrastructure.
- At least 20 years of experience in technology leadership.
- Understanding of the relationship between application design, data, and infrastructure.
- Experience with infrastructure as code and software development methodologies.
- Success in meeting client needs in large organizations.
- Knowledge of relevant tools and platforms (cloud, web technologies, continuous integration).
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading digital technology engineering teams within a retail/consumer industry at scale.
