Role Description
Lead the team of delivery managers who are delivering the portfolio of projects and deliveries to our customers.
Accountable for ensuring application changes as part of the wider FNZ programme are delivered in line with pre-agreed timeframes and milestones are met
Responsible for capacity planning and resource management of all analysts, developers and testers who contribute to delivery in the APAC region
Be the escalation point for FNZ stakeholders for resolving delivery issues and implement clear and direct interventions with project teams when required.
Work collaboratively with senior stakeholders to enable the successful delivery of the portfolio in line with agreed budget, quality and timescale parameters.
To ensure all projects delivered in APAC are delivered in line with the FNZ SDLC
Own continuous improvement initiatives and drive all improvement changes to successful completion.
To ensure effective recruitment, development and succession planning for the management of the Delivery Managers based in Wellington.
To develop FNZ APAC delivery capability and knowledge base, and establish a culture of continuous improvement within the team.
Be an active member of the APAC leadership team and contribute to setting and executing the strategic plan for that region.
Provide leadership, direction setting and effective management to the APAC Delivery team.
Liaise with Delivery Management teams globally to ensure that best practice project manager processes are applied consistently across FNZ Global Delivery activity
To manage the planning process for agreement of the Delivery Portfolio and on-going changes to it in line with new business development
Work collaboratively with Client Directors and project managers and be responsible for ensuring that APAC implementation and service enhancement projects deliver in line with project plans
Responsible for ensuring Projects are estimated, planned, managed and reported in line with the FNZ SDLC and PLC.
To ensure appropriate governance is in place to manage, monitor and report on the APAC Project Portfolio. This will include reporting on projects compliance to the FNZ SDLC. Responsible for ensuring Projects identify, quantify and actively manage risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies.
Responsible for ensuring robust change management is applied to all projects, and that commercial change control processes are applied when required
To resolve any delivery issues escalated from direct reports and other stakeholders
Lead the Delivery Management job family, build capability in this team, ensuring capacity is in-line with demand/budget, and establish a culture of continuous improvement in the team, ensuring best practice and lessons learned are captured and shared.
Responsible for ensuring the development of a fit for purpose project management lifecycle that is used consistently across all APAC implementation and service enhancement projects. This process should align as required with the FNZ SDLC
Experience required
Extensive experience of leading large multi-stream programmes in complex, multiple stakeholder, matrix managed technology environments.
Significant knowledge and experience of software development delivery preferably with experience of the financial services industry.
Knowledge and expertise of shaping programmes and projects utilising a variety of delivery frameworks, methodologies and tools.
Very strong influencing skills and ability to communicate complex capability and processes in a clear and coherent way.
Experience delivering projects in an outsourced environment, liaising with multiple business units, conflicting priorities and projects (both internal and external service providers and suppliers) at the same time.
