Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as the Head of Compliance and Legal Affairs . As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies, as well as managing legal affairs and corporate governance matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor compliance programs to ensure adherence to relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify compliance gaps and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance matters to promote a culture of compliance throughout the organization.
- Manage all legal disputes, claims, and litigation involving the company, including coordinating with external legal counsel and relevant stakeholders.
- Prepare legal documents, responses, and briefs for court proceedings and hearings.
- Monitor the progress of litigation cases and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Support the development and implementation of corporate governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with corporate governance requirements, including board governance, ethics, and transparency.
- Facilitate board meetings, prepare meeting agendas, minutes, and resolutions, and maintain corporate records.
- Oversee the organization's document management system, including the storage, retrieval, and disposal of documents.
- Stay abreast of relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards applicable to the company's operations.
- Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on the organization.
- Coordinate regulatory filings, inspections, and audits, and respond to regulatory inquiries as necessary.
- Lead and manage a team of compliance, legal, and governance professionals.
- Provide direction, guidance, and support to team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, provide feedback, and identify opportunities for professional development.
- Identify potential risks and vulnerabilities to the organization and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Requirements
- Proven experience in compliance, litigation, corporate governance, document management, and regulatory affairs, preferably in a corporate or legal setting.
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Ability to effectively manage a team and collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
Eligible Degrees
- MBA, BTech/BE, MTech/ME, BA, BSc, and equivalent degrees.
