Description
We are seeking an experienced HCC coder to join our growing team. The ideal candidate should have 2-8 years of experience in HCC coding and a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding guidelines. The candidate should also have excellent analytical and communication skills to effectively collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies.
Responsibilities
- Review medical records to identify relevant diagnoses and procedures
- Assign appropriate ICD and CPT codes to reflect the services provided
- Ensure coding accuracy and compliance with established coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and insurance companies to resolve coding discrepancies
- Identify opportunities for improvement in coding processes and procedures
Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Medical Coding or related field
- 2-8 years of experience in HCC coding
- Certification as a Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) or Certified Professional Coder (CPC)
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of insurance and reimbursement processes
