Terrace campus, invites applications for a term Instructor in the
Hairstylist Program. The appointment will commence
as soon as possible and end May 24, 2024 for 330 instructional hours. Salary will be in accordance with the BCGEU Instructor Scale.
Duties: The Instructor will facilitate learning (maintaining the Industry Training Authority curriculum and examinations in the Hairdressing program) and is responsible for ensuring student success. This includes course preparation, teaching and guiding students, providing feedback, correction, encouragement, and direction. In addition, the instructor will oversee and ensure salon safety, complete the related administrative, record keeping and monitoring activities as well as other related duties as required to teach the Hairstylist program.
Qualifications
Qualifications: Hairstylist Red Seal Journeyperson Certification and Grade 12 or equivalent along with experience operating all aspects of a Salon. Preference will be given to candidates with a Provincial Instructor Diploma, Instructional Skills Workshop, or other relevant certifications and teaching experience. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

- Ability to function effectively across cultures, particularly with the local Indigenous communities

- Excellent organizational, group facilitation, communication and interpersonal skills
- Intermediate computer skills (MS Word, Excel, and email) is an asset
