Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role as a Gym Manager located in Hyderabad. The Gym Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and management of the fitness center. This includes overseeing group exercise and training sessions, coordinating with fitness professionals, ensuring the facility is clean and well-maintained, and providing exceptional customer service to members. The Gym Manager will also be responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and motivating environment for clients.
- Creating the Roaster for trainers, checking day to day operations, maintaining equipment, linen maintenance, and reviewing user feedback in forms.
- Taking the Weekly Briefings for Trainers & Supporting staff supervisor & team, along with minutes of meeting documentation.
- Regularly walk through the wellness area. ( Ex : gym, washrooms, looby's )
- Managing the full shift in absence of the co-manager or spa manager.
- Weekly Equipment Audit along with senior Instructor or Instructor.
- Weekly Linen and Inventory Audit along with HK Supervisor or HK Staff.
- Monthly Vendor staff attendance & Invoice review, follow ups.
- Stakeholder workplace support management.
- Carry out health and safety checks on the equipment and site.
- Lead the team by example exhibiting empathy at all times
- Maintaining data, Updating day to day usage report ex: user usage data, linen usage data, Equipment checklist, discard data ect.
- Provide service excellence through courteous, informed, accessible and professional engagement.
- Excellent communication with strong decision-making ability.
- Ensure you are a strong team player and problem solver with focus on commercial awareness.
- Should be open to discuss ongoing issues which you are not able to solve by yourself and which you solved by you.
- Providing constructive feedback to the team members.
- Participate in continuing education programs and staff meetings.
- Handling in & out management
- Having enough staff on the floor covering the most popular classes, while only having the staff you need during quieter hours.
- Handle complaints and incidents, such as accidents, emergencies or theft
- Maintain high levels of customer care, often with a particular focus on avoiding loss of existing users.
- Prioritise target activities and user groups
- Engaging with members to ensure needs are met and identifying further business development opportunities.
- Reviewing the class timetable ensures members needs are met within budget.
- Handle complaints and incidents, such as accidents, emergencies or theft
- Ensure own and staff members first aid training is up to date
- Oversee the use, care, operation, maintenance, and record-keeping of all fitness equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Referring Resources and Interviewing candidates, training, supporting trainers and conducting performance appraisals for trainers
- Demonstrate exceptional levels of leadership, empathy and team spirit
- Ensure that you are Hands on with building and adhering to methods and regulations.
- Inventory Management.
Qualifications
- Experience in group exercise and group training
- Knowledge of the fitness industry and trends
- Certification in personal training or relevant fitness qualifications
- Understanding of exercise physiology and its application in a fitness setting
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a team and manage multiple tasks
- Attention to detail and customer-oriented mindset
- AED/CPR and First Aid certifications preferred
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (for example an MSc in sports science)
- Graduates with qualifications in sports science, recreation or leisure studies, health management, physiology, life sciences, business or management.
- Work experience as a Center Manager (health and fitness industry)
- 5-7years+ as a coach, fitness instructor, recreation assistant or leisure/fitness centre attendant.
