Our designers are involved at every step of a projectfrom gathering insights, brainstorming, prototyping, and experimentation to launching pixel-perfect designs. We're also innovating through machine learning and gen AI, and you'll be contributing to making every interaction delightfully simple.

Come join the QuickBooks Workforce Solutions design team as a Design Manager to lead Payroll Tax and Expert experiences. The successful candidate must be both an excellent designer and strong leader since they will manage and mentor a team of designers. Through a keen balance of design strategy, thought leadership, creative direction and people leadership, the Design Leader enables this team to deliver awesome experiences for employers and their employees.

Design is crucial at Intuit and collaborates closely with Product Management and Engineering leaders to provide a strong design voice to guide the customer experience vision and strategy. They also use their deep knowledge of customer behavior to drive design judgment, while leveraging solid analytics and experimentation frameworks to make data-driven decisions.

This person would also work closely with other design leaders focused on designing for small businesses and self-employed around the world to ensure cohesive and excellent experiences across our ecosystem of products.

Responsibilities

Help to define and drive business and product strategy, stimulating and provoking

change or progress across the organization.

Provide direction, inspiration, and mentorship to working teams, in line with strategy across the QuickBooks product ecosystem.

Ensures alignment across the quad (Design, Product Management, Engineering, Data Science) across the ecosystem.

Maintain and influence cross-functional partners on the product strategy and vision.

Build capabilities across teams, scaling effort across the business.

Manage complex initiatives through design thinking, pushing innovation with a strong focus on the holistic QuickBooks ecosystem.

Have an uncanny ability to bring people along across a complex organization and

inspire them to always aim for bigger, bolder, and smarter.

Evolve the design system for web, mobile, and/or other mediums.

Broad and deep product and customer knowledge across business.

Work with distributed teams and stakeholders, across multiple projects and initiatives

Operate autonomously but provide strategic guidance to leadership while managing your direct team.

Provide strategy and new thinking for unmet opportunities, champion that vision.

Participate and facilitate brainstorming and co-design activities with internal groups

and with customers.

Be an excellent communicator; amplify, dramatize stories and information to evoke

meaningful and lasting emotional responses through verbal and visual means,

ensuring alignment with stakeholders and team.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or master's degree in Product Design, Human-Computer Interaction

Design, or related field and/or a portfolio demonstrating your strong craft, process,

and rigor

Experience leading and managing a design teams

Deep understanding of user interface, interaction, and visual design; demonstrated

ability to deliver high quality design output

Oversees large-scale design explorations that balance user needs, business outcomes and technical constraints.

Able to craft a learning and experimentation plan and leverage learnings to optimize and create bold new experiences

Excellent leadership, communication, project management, and organizational skills

Develops a visionary ideal state based on data that seize the biggest opportunities for end-to-end improvements.

Strong business acumen and experience in managing multiple stakeholders and

senior leadership expectations

Proven success working on concept, interface and experiences for innovative

large-scale projects, actively collaborating within a cross-functional team

Experience designing for and working with design systems and reusable component libraries

Experience designing for accessibility and knowledgeable in usability

Knowledgeable of design trends in mobile, web, and AI, motion design

A background in global and/or fintech design is preferred but not required

Crafts and owns the key stories, mission, and vision of the team and guides and unblocks the team to become better storytellers.
