Role Summary
We are looking for a graduate architectural engineer / BIM engineer who is keen to help to further develop and grow a successful business. The role is located in Bangalore India supporting the WSP Middle East Acoustic team.
You would be joining one of the largest acoustic teams in the region and a team of three persons already based in Bangalore. It should be noted that this role is to support the acoustic team with various architectural engineering services related to acoustics (see below for further details) and this is not a role with an Architectural practice.
The candidate should have a degree in architectural engineering or a related subject. Experience in architectural software like AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 and Sketchup is a requirement. Experience with 3D Max, Rhino and Grasshopper would be beneficial but not a requirement.
The candidate will have the opportunity to work on some of the largest and most iconic buildings and developments in the Middle East, including hospitality, commercial, industrial, infrastructure, and residential projects.
Responsibilities And Key Competencies / Skills
- Responsible for CAD, BIM and Sketchup design tasks as directed by the Acoustic Engineers.
- Responsible for editing supplied CAD drawings to allow easy import to acoustic noise modelling software. Typically this includes the simplification of site plans and ensuring plans are geo-referenced to the required coordinate system.
- Generate 3D models from general arrangement drawings for export to room acoustic software packages.
- Develop acoustic 2D and 3D details as well as support with audio/video files.
- Utilize acoustic modelling software to aid the calculation.
- Attend to team and project needs as required, and respond within agreed timeframes.
- Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies.
- Develop expertise and stay abreast of developments in relevant technical fields.
- Identify improvements (where possible) to enhance WSP in India ME service to clients.
- Start learning about building acoustic calculations and assessments for sound insulation, room acoustic, and building services calculations.
- Knowledge of photo, sound, and video editing software would be beneficial but not a requirement.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
