The Grade I Mother Teacher is responsible for creating a nurturing and supportive environment for students in their formative years. This role involves not only teaching academic subjects but also guiding children in their overall emotional, social, and physical development. The Mother Teacher acts as a mentor and caregiver, fostering a sense of security and well-being for students to grow in a holistic manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teaching & Instruction:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver age-appropriate lessons in line with the school curriculum.
- Ensure all subjects (English, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, etc.) are taught in an engaging and interactive manner.
- Use diverse teaching methods (visual aids, storytelling, activities) to cater to different learning styles.
- Classroom Management:
- Maintain a safe, organized, and stimulating classroom environment conducive to learning.
- Encourage a positive classroom culture by promoting respect, responsibility, and collaboration among students.
- Student Well-being & Support:
- Provide individual attention to each student, identifying their learning needs and emotional well-being.
- Help students develop social skills, self-discipline, and a love for learning.
- Act as a primary point of contact for students academic and personal growth.
- Parent Communication:
- Maintain regular communication with parents to discuss their child's progress, behavior, and areas of improvement.
- Address parents concerns and provide guidance on how to support their child's learning at home.
- Assessment & Evaluation:
- Conduct regular assessments to monitor the academic and personal progress of students.
- Provide timely feedback to students and parents on progress and set achievable goals for future development.
- Extracurricular Involvement:
- Encourage participation in extracurricular activities such as arts, sports, and cultural events.
- Support the organization of school events, festivals, and parent-teacher meetings.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with other teachers and staff members to ensure the smooth functioning of the primary section.
- Share resources and collaborate on best practices for holistic child development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education (B.Ed) or related field.
- Previous experience in teaching primary students, especially Grade I, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to engage young children in interactive learning.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment.
