We Are Thermal Management Team
Thermal Management is a department within Vehicle Technology responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining an optimized cab climate and vehicle cooling & heating systems for all types of propulsion installations to all truck brands within the Volvo Group. We are responsible for leading the work with strategies and advanced engineering globally. We are located at Bangalore & Gothenburg and we have close cooperation with the vehicle engineering sites in Greensboro, Curitiba and Lyon.
Join the Thermal Management Sub Stream, within the Vehicle Motion and Thermal Management department. Embark on the journey to develop the future Volvo Group Thermal Management systems and functions.
What you will do
As a Group manager in this position, you will be a leader in an organization dedicated to technology, people, and performance, where customer satisfaction is our ultimate performance measurement.
On our exciting adventure to develop the future at Volvo Group, we are now looking for dynamic and experienced leaders our new Group Manager - Data & Simulation in the Thermal Management Data Simulation Verification (DSV) Section Leadership team.
Role And Responsibilities
In this role as a Group manager TM Data & Simulation, you will fulfill the following responsibilities:
- Strategy Management: Part of the TM DSV section leadership team to drive section and TM sub-stream strategies of simulation and digitalization.
- Innovation: Drive innovation related to Advanced engineering, Patent, Cost improvement and method development.
- Budget Management: Contribute to the TM budget by providing accurate inputs to TM DSV section budgeting. Plan software licenses and hardware requirements of the team.
- Process Implementation: Implement TM enablers and ensure smooth flow between groups, securing effective cross-section working groups
- Issue Resolution: Address roadblocks that have not been resolved at the team member level.
- People Management: Foster the growth and development of your team members through an innovation culture and fun place to work.
- Competency Management: Strategize the competency needs of current and future, secure it through internal and external collaboration.
- Workforce Planning: Plan and implement workforce strategies (internal/external) to meet capacity needs.
- Collaboration: Maintain and develop networks within GTT Thermal teams as well as other GTX teams across.
- Contribute to our Thermal Management Sub-Stream Digital Transformation (Roadmap and Implementation)
- Plan and secure group strategies, deliveries, and quality inline to overall section level strategy.

To succeed in this role, we are looking for someone with the following qualifications and requirements: -
Mandatory Skills
- B.E/B.Tech or ME/M.Tech in Thermal Systems or Mechatronics or Computer Science Engineering or Similar
- Minimum 12+ years of experience product development within the automotive industry
- Several years of leadership experience, including line management positions.
- Experience in System Engineering in the field of Thermal Management or Power Train E ngineering
- Good experience/knowledge of Mechanical Simulation and Data Science
- Exposure to vehicle testing and correlation to virtual analysis.
- Experience working in a global environment with several sites and external partners.
Merit Skills
- Experience with thermal performance simulation methods & tools like 1D GT-Suite, Amesim, 3D StarCCM+, Taitherm, Powerflow
- Experience with Data science related methods & tools like Python, Matlab, PowerBI
- Experience with Thermal Management system virtual Verification/Validation (Performance Simulations, Data analytics, SIL)
- Experience with digitalization Data based system development.
- Good knowledge of Truck / Car complex systems and Thermal Management (ICE-BEV-Fuel cell drivelines, cab climate)
