Overview
This role reports to the Sr. Director of Global Payroll. The Global Payroll Specialist will collaborate with Payroll Team members, Human Resources, Finance & Accounting and other internal business partners while processing and administering the end-to end payroll process for India payroll as well as each other assigned country. The Global Payroll Specialist will act as the subject matter expert for payroll for India and each assigned country.
Responsibilities
Analyzes, prepares and inputs payroll data for assigned countries into a number of payroll systems including ADP Workforce Now, ADP Celergo, etc., to produce accurate and timely payrolls
Must be familiar with India Provident Fund, Labour Welfare Fund, Tax Deduction at Source (TDS) and Flexible Benefit Plan (FBP)
Ensures compliance with all applicable payroll legislation and corporate practices, policies and procedures
Accountability for wage calculations for changes (new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, etc) for employees in assigned countries in addition to reconciliation and journal entries.
Stays current on payroll systems and resolve administrative problems with payroll providers
Performs various journal entries, account reconciliations, and provides general ledger support
Facilitates management and employee understanding of payroll procedures
Prepares monthly, quarterly and annual government reporting for assigned countries.
Responsible for Year-end reporting and processing for assigned countries
Maintain accurate documentation of all payroll processing
Completion of relevant ad hoc surveys as required
Collaborates with internal and external auditors by providing data, reports and explanations of controls, processes and procedures
Assist team members as needed
Participates in special projects such as process improvements, systems implementations, new country implementations, and systems integration
Utilizes time and labor systems such as ADP E-Time, Replicon, etc., to calculate and input exception time into payroll
Manages payroll service provider or vendor
Monitors for data privacy compliance
And other duties as assigned
Requirements/Competencies
3+ years in a similar Payroll Administrator position
PCP, or similar, or working towards certification
Must have experience processing a minimum of 5 countries
Post-secondary diploma in a related field, ideally in Business/Accounting or equivalent experience
Understanding of accounting concepts relating to payroll
Understanding of best practices relating to payroll processing
Exposure and understanding of global payroll laws and regulations and the ability to apply to respective countries in a seamless transition while multitasking
Must have 5 years ERP experience preferably an ADP software system
Clear written and verbal communication skills
Must have advanced level MS Excel (vlookups, pivot tables, formulas)
Goal oriented with strong organization and time management skills
Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Excellent relationship building skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Proven ability to work independently or in a team environment
Able to effectively deal with change and a diverse environment
