The Azurity Accounting Team is searching for an Accounting Manager to join the team as we enable the business to make profitable and well-founded decisions. The Accounting Manager is a self-starter with a sense of urgency who finds a way to get the job done - high energy level, persistent, curious - a strong entrepreneurial spirit.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The Accounting Manager supports the Controller in successfully managing Accounting operations. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing a team of 3-4 general ledger accountants to ensure proper recording of all transactions, excluding Revenue transactions. This role is integral in the leadership of the accounting operations and will be involved in key projects (mergers, acquisitions, improvement projects, etc.). This person has the responsibility to:
  • Deliver accurate financial statements
  • Oversee the month end close process, closing within a target of 5-7 days
  • Implement process improvements to gain efficiencies in month end close
  • Ensure proper accounting processes, policies and internal controls
  • Collaborate with the IT department to maintain ERP system processes and business process documentation
  • Help coordinate the annual external financial statement audit and external valuations
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is required
  • CA certification is required
  • 8-10 years Accounting experience with clear progression, including 4-5 years management experience
  • A hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves approach and a strong sense of urgency
  • Detail-oriented and organized. A problem-solver who can quickly assess ambiguous situations, chart a prudent course and gain buy-in.
  • Proven management and supervisory skills, including the ability to persuade others to achieve excellence and to foster an environment of openness and teamwork
PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Experience within the pharmaceutical industry
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365
  • 3-5 years Public Accounting experience preferred
  • A Master of Accountancy or MBA
