General Manager - Contract & Bid Management

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced General Manager specializing in Contract & Bid Management to oversee all aspects of our contracting and bidding processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the end-to-end lifecycle of contracts and bids, ensuring compliance with regulations, maximizing profitability, and fostering strong relationships with clients and vendors. The General Manager will lead a team of professionals, providing guidance, direction, and support to achieve departmental objectives and organizational goals.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement strategies for effective contract and bid management, aligning with organizational objectives and market trends.

2. Oversee the entire contracting process, from initial request for proposal (RFP) to contract negotiation, execution, and administration.

3. Lead the bid management process, including identifying opportunities, preparing proposals, and coordinating bid submissions.

4. Collaborate with sales, legal, finance, and other departments to ensure contract terms and conditions meet company standards and mitigate risks.

5. Analyze contract and bid requirements, evaluate potential risks, and recommend appropriate courses of action.

6. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to achieve favorable terms and conditions.

7. Monitor contract performance and compliance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.

8. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including clients, partners, and regulatory authorities.

9. Provide guidance and support to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.

10. Stay abreast of industry developments, emerging trends, and regulatory changes affecting contract and bid management practices.

11. Prepare and present reports, presentations, and other communications to senior management and stakeholders.

12. Ensure adherence to ethical standards, company policies, and legal requirements in all contract and bid activities.

Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance, law, or a related field; master's degree preferred.

2. Proven experience in contract and bid management, with at least [X] years in a managerial or leadership role.

3. In-depth knowledge of contract law, procurement practices, and bidding processes.

4. Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

5. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, with the capacity to build rapport and influence stakeholders at all levels.

6. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.

7. Proficiency in contract management software and Microsoft Office Suite.

8. Certification in contract management (e.g., CPCM, CFCM) is a plus.

9. Ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

10. Commitment to upholding ethical standards and promoting a culture of integrity and compliance.
