Prepare and post journal entries (including but not limited to accruals, prepayments, customer rebates, deferred costs, depreciation and adjustments) and ensure proper general ledger coding
Perform account analysis to ensure that journal entries and balances are accurate
Reconcile accounts with the general ledger
Support Business Unit Heads with monthly reviews of costs, reporting any fluctuations and variances against budget
Liaise with external book-keepers for certain entities to provide AP, AR and indirect tax information
Review P&L to identify items that should be capitalised or prepaid
Monthly reconciliation of inventory
Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyse and interpret relevant financial information.
Assist the Financial Controller with year-end audit requests and statutory reporting.
Improve existing financial controls and assist in standardising them globally
Completion of periodic surveys issued by the Office For National Statistics/other Government reporting
Update documentation and business processes and procedures
Assist other departments with accounting issues and queries
Any other ad hoc tasks as required to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting
Qualifications
Part-qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent)
At least 2 years experience in general ledger accounting, preferably within a multinational organisation.
Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to work remotely with teams across the globe.
Superb time-management and organisational skills.
Detail oriented and must work effectively and efficiently under time pressure with minimal supervision.
Team player and ability to motivate other team members.
Proficiency in accounting and business management software, such as Navision/Microsoft Dynamics.
