What Impact You'll Make
The New Unit Installation EHS Specialist 1 will implement and maintain EHS standards for New Unit installations and primarily Technical Direction and Installation (TDI) scope projects in Heavy Duty Gas Turbine (HDGT) and Aeroderivative Business Lines. While spending significant time on Project Sites, this Specialist partners with the Lead Technical Advisors (TA) and/or Site Managers to implement and maintain the site EHS Management System, ensuring compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and company requirements. This Specialist will coordinate with the Pole Projects EHS Leader, EHS Portfolio Leader and site EHS professionals, as well as Project and Construction & Commissioning (C&C) TDI leaders to monitor and support resources to improve EHS performance at Project Sites.
This Specialist's portfolio of projects will primarily include Equipment Only (EO) Projects and kits.

Job Description
What You'll Do:
- Plan and support the execution of Site EHS Plans for TDI Projects.
- Work with Lead TAs and Project Managers to monitor the effectiveness of site-related rules defined in the Site EHS Plan and, in consultation with the Site Manager / lead TA and following EHS standards, revise as necessary to keep up to date.
- Implement GE standards at EO Project Sites with Lead TA, Project Manager and other supporting TAs during mobilization and execution.
- Work with the NU Projects EHS Pole Leader and/or NU Installation EHS Team Leader, to coordinate planning and implementation of all EHS activities from ITO to execution.
- Prepare Project EHS reporting/KPI updates in line with the organization's requirements and communicate/report updates to relevant stakeholders for necessary action. This includes EHS KPI for Daily Management.
- Serve as point of contact for site EHS professionals on assigned Projects within portfolio.
- Ensure an effective review of GE and EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction)/customer method statements and associated risk assessment against GE, EPC/customer and regulatory requirements.
- Actively communicate on the GE Framework and audit requirements and ensure the Site Manager monitors and maintains site compliance. Set up and maintain the EHS training needs analysis and training plan.
- Maintain EHS records and documentation for the duration of Projects.
- Ensure appropriate actions are taken in the event of an EHS non-compliance.
- Conduct post installation EHS review, record EHS performance, and communicate lessons learned with EHS, Project, C&C, and customer/EPC stakeholders.
- Proactively identify potential customer deviations from EHS contractual terms, propose and implement mitigation plan, and escalate as needed.
- Deliver timely information to NU Projects EHS Pole Leader, and/or NU Installation EHS Team Leader, and Business Management in relation to any trends that become evident through analysis of data from portfolio of projects.
- Ensure effective EHS communication to all site personnel, including EHS Read Across events and actions.
- Perform internal EHS audits and inspections according to Pole EHS audit strategy, including ensuring closure of audit findings.
- Partner with customers and/or EPC firms to execute a risk based EHS audit plan for compliance, risk reduction and EHS program execution.
What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications)
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college (or a high school diploma/GED with at least six years of experience in EHS) or EHS Diploma with a minimum of 4 years Project site or construction experience)
- Three years of EHS experience or operations experience with EHS responsibilities
- One year of Project site or construction experience
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time. Applicants must be able to meet travel requirements, including ability to obtain required permits/visas in a timely manner permitting work in those countries/locations to which overseas travel is likely to form a significant part of the role as dictated by business needs.
- English fluency
What Will Make You Stand Out
- Experience working for or with an EPC firm or construction environment.
- Experience working with site and project management, including across multiple projects.
- Knowledge of GE's EHS programs and policies, including EHS Framework.
- Experience using Gensuite and/or ComplyWorks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Working knowledge of GE EHS Management system preferred .
- Experience working in one or more GE businesses.
