As a Senior applications engineer, you will play a key role in analyzing, designing, developing, troubleshooting, and debugging software programs for commercial or end-user applications. Your responsibilities will include not only writing code and carrying out programming tasks but also conducting thorough testing and debugging of applications.
Joining the software engineering division, you will have the opportunity to engage in high-level design work based on provided external specifications. You will be actively involved in specifying, designing, and implementing minor changes to existing software architecture, as well as in developing highly complex enhancements and resolving intricate bugs. In addition, you will take charge of building and executing unit tests and unit plans, and reviewing integration and regression test plans created by QA. Your role will also involve collaborating closely with QA and porting engineering teams to ensure minor changes to product functionality are well-communicated and to consistently maintain quality across products.
The tasks and duties involved in this role are diverse and challenging, requiring independent judgment. You will be expected to showcase full competence in your area of expertise, and may even take on a project lead role and/or supervise lower-level personnel. Ideally, a candidate will hold a BS or MS degree or possess equivalent experience relevant to the functional area, along with a minimum of 6 years of software engineering or related experience.

As a Senior Applications Engineer in the team, you will need to:
- Work with a geographically dispersed team of world-class engineers in a startup by taking complete ownership and accountability to see the project through for completion.
- Collaborate with product managers/QA owners and other stakeholders in understanding the requirements and work on delivering user stories/backlog items with the highest levels of quality and consistency across the product.
- Be agile, self-driven, and comfortable driving forward even when some aspects of a project are not fully known.
- Showcase ability to drive transformational changes in a highly technical and dynamic environment.
- Exhibit expert knowledge in performance, building large-scale enterprise applications, system architecture, and engineering best practices.
- Develop ultra-scalable, highly reliable diagnostic instrumentation and supportability features that include fault-tolerance, telemetry, and automatic recovery in error scenarios
- Have a passion for discovering the true technical/operational requirements associated with the new feature requests that demonstrate exceptional customer relationship skills; provide alternate technical and functional approaches to meet the strong customer commitment timelines with the best possible solution.
- Be a leader and provide design suggestions to the most complex problems faced by the team by sharing your deep software engineering knowledge and experience.
- Should be able to balance technical leadership and strong business judgment to make the right decisions be it on the technology or in designing the application.

To Be Successful As a Senior Applications Engineer
You MUST have the following skills:
- Hands-on experience in Oracle framework including VBCS/JET, Middleware (ADF/REST) and DB
- Hands-on experience in JAX-WS and JAX-RPC Architecture like SOAP-XML & REST-JSON
- Expert knowledge of PL/SQL, JAVA, J2EE, ADF REST, ESS, BIP, Reports builder, XML publisher
- Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion Cloud applications - FIN|ERP
- Expertise in performance tuning approaches in JAVA / SQL or in related technologies
- Strong analytical and debugging/problem-solving skills
- Experience in Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery principles in the world of cloud-based web applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical content to both technical and non-technical peers, customers, and at times executive leadership.
- Able to operate in a very fast-paced environment where the Go-To market is supercritical
- Having these additional skills will be an added advantage:
- Hands-on experience in Linux command line
- Working knowledge of Oracle EBS Financials, EBS P2P, EBS O2C Applications
- Familiarity with DevOps tools - GIT/Jenkins/Docker/Gradle
- Knowledge in scripting languages JavaScript/Groovy/Python
- Proficiency in design patterns
- Exposure to AI/ML
Education and Experience
- You should possess a minimum experience of 6 and not exceed 10 years in your IT career.
- You should have an Engineering degree (BE/B.Tech/M.Tech) from a reputed institute with an excellent and consistent academic record.
