Job Description

Job Title: Fundraiser

Job Location: Delhi

Overview

Chintan Environmental Research and Action Group is a non-profit, non-governmental organization

addressing issues of sustainable and equitable consumption. The organization works in the areas of

waste, circular economy, air pollution, and climate change. All our work is via a gender lens and puts

the vulnerable at the center of solutions.

Chintan is looking for a Fundraiser to start as soon as possible. The Fundraiser will play a key role in

driving the organization's revenue-generation efforts by identifying and cultivating relationships with

potential donors, sponsors, CSR, and grant-making bodies. The ideal candidate will have a passion for

the organizations mission, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successful

fundraising in the non-profit sector.

Responsibilities:

Fundraising

Direct proposal writing, special focus on CSR and Corporate funding

Maintain relationships with Online aggregator platforms to ensure presence

Research the client, industry, and competitors, to tailor proposals effectively and create compelling narratives that highlight Chintans strengths, expertise, and competitive advantages.

Support in retail fundraising by brainstorming for new campaigns

Streamline fundraising data

Analyse RFP/RFQ requirements and ensure that the proposal addresses all mandatory and desired criteria

Proactively reach out to active, and past donors for sharing updates and other interest mapping

Once a month visit a new project/location for work for scoping and developing new learnings.

Support in developing fundraising proposals for Gen Next and green livelihoods

Map landscape

Coordinate with external organizations for fundraising, student volunteering campaigns, individual fundraising, etc.

Attend meetings and follow up with the clients as per requirement

Write or edit quarterly newsletters and coordinate with internal or external design teams to ensure they are completed as per feedback

Strategy and planning

In conjunction with the Director, support the development of any long-term strategy to achieve agreed long-term organizational goals

Ensure donor deadlines are communicated to internal teams and reports are shared on time.

Work with internal teams to write or edit project reports, case studies, concept notes, etc. professionally and credibly

Maintain consistency across all documents by following the style guide

To identify key means of engaging identified stakeholders to create livelihoods for women wastepickers, especially around plastics

To identify trends in a circular economy that are of value to Chintan and its vision, and to

develop the capacity to leverage these across the organization and the ground

To identify stakeholders who will be able to contribute to the welfare and resilience of

wastepicker women in the NCR

To help leverage opportunities that will raise resources of various kinds for the above

Educational Qualifications :

Bachelors degree in business administration, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Non-Profit Management, or related fields.

A masters degree in a relevant field is preferred but not mandatory.

Experience :

Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in fundraising, donor relations, or sales, preferably in the non-profit sector.

Proposal Writing: Demonstrated experience in writing successful grant proposals and funding applications.

Donor Management: Experience in managing relationships with corporate sponsors, individual donors, foundations, and government agencies.

Event Management: Experience in planning and executing fundraising events, campaigns, and donor engagement activities.

Project Management: Proven ability to manage multiple fundraising projects simultaneously with attention to detail and deadlines.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present the organizations mission and goals persuasively to potential donors

The candidate must be self-motivated, able to work in a diverse team, and think out of the box. Deep

empathy for others is essential.
