The Fund Accounting Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible as a subject matter expert for accomplishing results by driving a variety of Financial Reporting activities associated with Fund administration. The overall objective of this role is to ensure the seamless delivery of activities associated with Financial Reporting Fund Administration by managing overall day-to-day work of a client/a few clients in mutual funds space.
Preparation and Review of financial statements ensuring compliance with accounting standards, internal and external audit requests and point of contact for identified clients. Ensure the quality of the day-to-day service equals or betters the performance targets as defined in the service level agreements (SLA's) in place for each Client. Liaise with Onshore to ensure that auditors, clients and other interested parties have all relevant information for completing audits. Monitor the production schedule to ensure that production is completed accurately and within the client deadline. Plan and track the review comments from Onshore/Client/Auditors.
Technical/Functional:
Manages processes which includes preparation and technical review of annual and semi-annual financial statements including audit work papers incorporating fund calculations for complex funds/clients in accordance with US GAAP (preferable)/IFRS and regulatory requirements for mutual funds and perform the completeness and accuracy checks of disclosure in FS.
Work on relationships with onshore client teams to make changes to financial reports and ensure they accurately depict fund performance.
In depth understanding and knowledge in accounting principles & preparation of financial statements based on US GAAP (preferable)/IFRS.
Participates in pre and post reporting cycle initiatives and work-streams.
Ensures financial reports meet clients and any applicable regulatory standards.
Responsible for the achievement of team goals and objectives, supervision of work by other team members.
Assists with coordination of activities between multiple departments within the organization, including our global partners.
Draft and update task lists for offshoring partners, ensures all supporting documentation is available to them and acts as primary contact to answer their questions and issues.
Develop and manage action plans and implement all quality and production standards.
Keeps him/herself constantly informed of regulatory and industry changes and other developments.
Coordinate fund year-end tax reporting, client reporting and various other reports
Ensures effective use of reporting system and makes recommendations for system enhancements where required.
Proactively managing risk at the business level; takes fully accountable for all steps of the production chain and share best practices to the wider team.
Ensure all key controls are in place and followed in terms of checklists and client specific procedures are adhered to as well as make recommendations for improvement
Helps in facilitating successful migration of funds/new clients from onshore to offshore

Qualifications:
7-11 years of relevant experience
Experience within financial services
Knowledge of financial market operations, accounting, and basics of financial management
Demonstrated knowledge of accounting
Basic knowledge of organization and policies
Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication
Education:
Bachelor's degree/University degree or equivalent experience
Master's degree or CA, ICWA, ACCA preferred
