Slide is a paid, hyperlocal, community-driven dating app being built in India, for the world. The app focuses on quality matches, inclusivity, and representation. There is a strong focus on behaviour change, match success and meeting IRL.
This is a contract Full Stack Software Engineer role at Slide with hybrid flexibility for remote work. The team is currently fundraising and the right candidate will ideally wish to continue in a full time capacity going forward. The co-founders, Sneha and Rajeev, have strong backgrounds in brand, marketing, research and behaviour change. The team at Slide genuinely focuses on female, LGBTQIA+, minority and marginalised communities and their issues, within dating and otherwise too.
The Full Stack Engineer will be responsible for front-end and back-end mobile software development to ensure a seamless and user-friendly dating app experience.
What you'll do:
- Be a part of the founding team :)
- Get the opportunity to contribute and learn various aspects of B2C software development
- As a developer get the opportunity to work on the front end, back end, Dev-ops, mobile application development and machine learning
- enabling you to be a full stack developer
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
- Implement security and data protection.
- Collaborate with other team members, product managers, designers, data scientists and other stakeholders.
- Build robust and scalable software infrastructure to support needs from internal and external users
- Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems, delivering high-availability and performance
- Keep technical debt low by reinforcing our Engineering culture of establishing sound practices for ensuring code reviews, high test
- coverage, and documentation
- Continuously look for ways to improve our product and processes, provide feedback.

Qualifications:
- A strong team player. Pinch of madness is a plus.
- B.E., B.Tech, M.Sc degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
- 1-3 year experience in software development
- Strong Computer Science fundamentals with competencies in software design, data structures, and problem-solving, debugging skills
- Proficiency in React Native for mobile development
- Knowledge of mobile app development on iOS and Android
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
- Experience with Java 8 or higher
- Experience of SpringBoot framework.
- Experience with SQL/NoSQL databases
- Experience with cloud service providers such as AWS
- Knowledge of Microservices fundamentals
