Job Description
Interface with ecosystem stakeholders (academia, trade, farmers, key buyers etc.) for their grading requirements and communicate the same to internal teams, specifically regarding desirable and undesirable aspects of FnV.
Interface with institutional stakeholders (Govt, Academia and Trade bodies) to source information that is critical to internal teams. Communicate on a periodic basis to these bodies for influencing their directions with respect to FnV quality and grades.
Map various stakeholders and their understanding of quality and grades.
Based on stakeholder inputs, advise internal teams for prioritizing FnV characteristics for the development of non-invasive models and as product features
Sourcing of FnV (good and defects) as required by the internal team
Map the various activities in the FnV value chain for defects and characters desired. This includes farmer practices on the farm and off-the-farm, how damages are prevented and handled and aspects of storage
Identify and explain defects in images of FnV generated for product development
Create and maintain a dossier of defects and characteristics of FnV as recognized by each of the stakeholders.
Reviewing information in the public domain, published papers, and industry publications and providing key information to the internal teams.
Work with institutional stakeholders in standardizing grades
Configure grading of FnV on Zentron Hortisort systems for demonstration and training of grades and standards and training to external stakeholders
Contribute to maximizing product-market fit by participating in the Hortisort product definition
Keep updated on packhouse specifications, equipment, processes, and technical information that will help the business team.
