A front desk executive's responsibilities can vary depending on the industry and the company, but may include:
- Greeting clients: Creating a positive office atmosphere and welcoming visitors
Answering phones: Answering calls, taking messages, and redirecting calls
- Managing records: Organizing and maintaining files, spreadsheets, and documents
Handling mail: Overseeing the sorting and distribution of incoming mail, and preparing outgoing mail- Operating office equipment: Using photocopiers, printers, and other office equipment
Providing customer service: Handling basic inquiries, addressing complaints, and responding to customer inquiries
Recording meeting minutes and dictations- Monitoring employee attendance
Making calls to employees or potential employees
- Guiding guests and issuing guest badges
Refilling office supplies- Maintaining discipline in guest areas
Demonstrating ethical behavior
- Checking operations daily
