Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Food Technologist at our New Delhi manufacturing facility. The Food Technologist will be responsible for sensory evaluation, laboratory anlysis, quality control, and research and development (R&D). They will be involved in product development, testing, and ensuring the highest standards of quality and taste in our products.

Qualifications

  • Laboratory experience and quality control knowledge
  • A minimum of 2 years experience as a food technologist
  • Sensory evaluation skills
  • Experience in new product development and reformulation
  • Understanding of commercial food manufacturing processes and machinery
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Bachelor's degree or higher (preferred) in Food Science, Food Technology, or a related field

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Develop new formulations and lead reformulations of existing recipes in collaboration with the culinary team.
  • Analyse ingredients and map out parameters critical to ensuring the utmost quality of the final product at different stages of its shelf-life.
  • Research, assess, and integrate ingredients, concepts and processes with emphasis on product pillars such as optimal taste, colour, odour, consistency, shelf life, and cost effectiveness.
  • Research and lead processes pertaining to licenses, certifications, regulatory approvals, nutritional labels, allergens and contaminants.
  • Implement product testing protocols and perform quality assurance test on each production batch for critical parameters before approval and dispatch.
  • Perform safety inspection on incoming raw ingredients and test for established quality standards and sensory benchmarks.
  • Collaborate and co-ordinate with third parties, such as food testing labs, to perform comprehensive shelf-life testing, nutritional analysis, microbial analysis, allergen testing, as well as other relevant processes.
  • Record and organise data pertaining to research, batch testing, and recipe formulation.
  • Assist in developing manufacturing, food handling and storage protocols for production.
  • Assist in identifying the ideal methods of preparation and preservation, as well as procuring the necessary equipment.
  • Assist in identifying the ideal packaging form factor to balance functionality, shelf-life, aesthetic value, brand identity and cost.
  • Assist in training staff to follow the established protocols and best practices during production.
