Key Responsibilities:
Fleet Management:
- Oversee and manage a fleet of 290 ambulances, ensuring optimal performance and operational readiness.
- Monitor the aging of the ambulances and ensure adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLA) as per manufacturer recommendations.
Government Liaison:
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with government agencies for new ambulance deployments or replacement of existing vehicles.
- Coordinate with government officials for fleet approvals, compliance, and reporting.
Team Leadership & Development:
- Define clear metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the fleet team to ensure high operational standards.
- Lead the development and implementation of people development and training programs for the fleet team, ensuring continuous skill enhancement.
- Conduct periodic performance reviews and ensure team alignment with organizational goals.
Vendor Management:
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key vendors, especially for ambulance fabrication, refurbishment, scheduled servicing, and procurement activities.
- Identify and develop a vendor base for fabrication, spare parts, tyres, batteries, and other fleet-related items.
Operational Excellence:
- Implement and monitor quality initiatives related to the fleet, ensuring adherence to best practices.
- Ensure comprehensive fuel management strategies are in place to optimize consumption and reduce costs.
- Oversee the insurance claim process for ambulances, ensuring timely submission and settlements.
Fleet System & MIS Development:
- Collaborate with the software team to develop, maintain, and upgrade the Fleet Management System (FMS).
- Conceptualize, develop, and implement Management Information Systems (MIS) for fleet verification, analysis, and report submission to the government.
Resource Optimization:
- Ensure resource optimization by reducing spares consumption and minimizing unnecessary expenses.
- Track all fleet-related expenses, providing detailed reports and analysis for cost control and budget management.
Innovation & Strategy:
- Develop innovative fleet management strategies, including potential franchise models for enhanced efficiency and service delivery.
- Define and implement contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted fleet operations under all circumstances.
Quality & Compliance:
- Ensure all fleet processes are comprehensively documented and updated in the Quality Management System (QMS) regularly.
- Lead initiatives to enhance operational quality, safety standards, and regulatory compliance across the fleet.
Cost Management:
- Responsible for tracking fleet-related expenses across the state, implementing cost-saving measures wherever possible.
- Work on strategies to optimize fuel management, spare part usage, and maintenance costs to improve overall fleet efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering/Automotive/Logistics or related fields.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fleet management, preferably with exposure to government contracts or ambulance services.
- Strong vendor management and government liaison experience.
- Proven experience in managing large teams, with a focus on development and performance management.
