POSITION OBJECTIVE
This position is responsible for providing technical and administrative support to Fleet Managers (FM) in maintaining and managing Machinery Management Agreements between Solar and customers.
Facilitates equipment failure investigations and root cause determination with appropriate groups. Compiles and submits engineering reports and analysis to Fleet Managers for review.
Fleet Engineer supports FM with alert management, preventative action reports, value tracking, and compilation of monthly reports and submission to customers. He/She will participate in and support onsite condition assessments.
Fleet Engineer will also support FM with Service Bulletin compliance and implementation of corrective actions as well as follow up on pending issues defined within issue tracker. He/she must be well versed in both Solar and customer
HSSE management systems.
Ensure compliance to the HSSE requirements, best practices and provide overviews to Field Service Representatives and other personnel who will be visiting
customer site.
DIMENSIONS
Works under the supervision of a Fleet Manager and provides technical support to Solar and customer's maintenance team to ensure maximum availability and reliability of the covered equipment under contract. He/she assists in development of repair and overhaul planning and schedules as well as parts provisioning and mobilization to customer sites.
Fleet Engineer also assists with site surveys and troubleshooting of system's connectivity related issues.
NATURE AND SCOPE
The Fleet Engineer-I provides technical support to one or multiple Fleet Managers and customers in an ongoing basis. He/she implements machinery management solutions and recommend improvement plans utilizing, InSight System, and Equipment Health Management Tools and Processes.
Working under the guidance of a senior Fleet Manager, the Fleet Engineer is responsible for technical support of the gas turbine packages and regular equipment assessments.
Provides support to the customers technical staff of as well as to Solar technicians and assists with completion of maintenance tasks on equipment under contract.
Principal Accountabilities
Provide technical support to Fleet Manger and customers
- Coordinate and support parts and
- Assist with personnel provisioning and mobilization of onsite support
- Lead onsite connectivity surveys, and participate and provide input into connectivity discussions between Solar and the customer IT teams.
- Assist Fleet Manager by participating in onsite failure investigation activities, ensure that all relevant data is collected and reported, track and follow up on implementation of corrective actions or recommendations.
- Track and report on all work performed through the agreement, ensuring that reports are submitted on a timely basis.
- Accountable for compliance to Solar and customer HSSE requirements
Reduce amount of time spent by the customer contacting Solar for information and coordination activities
- Assist FM with review / optimization of spare parts and stock levels
- Assist Fleet Managers with evaluation and determination of asset criticality and develop plan for optimum location of parts to support maintenance.
Improve maintenance effectiveness
- Assist Fleet Manager with the development and review of maintenance & inspection programs on all assets
- Work with district office and customer to plan and support maintenance activities.
- Participate in routine maintenance and inspection activities to develop firsthand experience of actual site conditions.
- Use the acquired knowledge of turbomachinery and rotating equipment and technical know-how to prevent breakdowns
Qualifications
Fleet Engineer I, will have demonstrated sound technical proficiency and knowledge of gas turbine and Turbomachinery equipment and be able to understand, evaluate and analyze complex technical information.
He/she must have the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical internal and external customers and poses strong interpersonal skills. Must be able to work effectively under pressure and follow direction with a strong sense of urgency.
The Fleet Engineer I will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical discipline and a minimum of 3 years experience in the oil & gas market.
