Firmware Engineer

Day to Day:

• - Execute all phases of firmware development, including requirements gathering, design, implementation, and system integration.
• - Develop and optimize code in C/C++ for microcontrollers and microprocessors used in telematics and video recording devices.
• - Work closely with hardware engineers to integrate firmware with sensors, communication modules, and video processing units.
• - Perform hardware bring-up and debugging to ensure seamless hardware-firmware integration.
• - Conduct thorough testing of firmware in both simulated and real-world environments.
• - Debug and resolve issues to improve firmware performance, stability, and compatibility.
• - Participate in code reviews and stay updated with the latest advancements in embedded systems.
• - Continuously enhance firmware functionality and propose improvements.
• - Maintain comprehensive documentation for firmware development, including design specifications and testing procedures.
• - Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware engineers, software developers, and product managers.
• - Ensure alignment on project goals and timelines and deliver integrated solutions.

Qualifications:

• - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 2 to 4 yrs of Strong experience with C/C++ for embedded systems.
• - Working knowledge of embedded operating systems such as FreeRTOS or Linux.
• - Familiarity with microcontroller architectures like ARM and PIC.
• - Understanding of communication protocols such as I2C, SPI, UART, and CAN.
• - Experience with real-time system design and development.
• - Proficiency with debugging tools such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG debuggers.
• - Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex issues in embedded systems.
• - Creative and innovative approach to solving engineering challenges.
• - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• - Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• - Preferred experience with video processing and image recognition technologies.
• - Knowledge of automotive safety and telematics systems.
• - Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
