Job Title: FinOps Architect

Location: Chennai, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Pune, Mumbai, Delhi, Coimbatore

Experience Required: 5 to 13 years

We are seeking an experienced and strategic FinOps Architect to join our solution development team. As a FinOps Architect, your primary responsibility will be designing and implementing efficient financial operations processes and systems, identifying mechanisms for cost optimization, implementing financial controls, and developing strategic financial decision-making frameworks, particularly for cloud environments.

1. Customer Engagement & Advisory

• Act as a trusted advisor to customers, understanding their cloud usage and financial objectives, and delivering cost-effective cloud solutions.
• Lead customer interactions to analyze their cloud estate, identify cost overheads, and drive cost optimization strategies.

1. Design & Implement Financial Processes

• Develop financial processes aligned with organizational goals, including budgeting, forecasting, cost allocation, invoicing, and reporting.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, developing solutions architecture for public, private, and hybrid cloud models (IaaS, PaaS, and other cloud services).

1. Cloud Cost Optimization & Management

• Continuously monitor financial data to identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Recommend optimizations on cloud resources, including Reserved Instances, Spot Instances, and right-sizing.

1. System Design & Implementation

• Collaborate with product development teams to design and implement financial systems, tools, and technologies.
• Provide recommendations for software solutions that improve financial operations, data accuracy, and reporting capabilities.

1. Financial Controls & Compliance

• Design and enforce controls to ensure data integrity, accuracy, and security.
• Establish policies and procedures for financial transactions, data management, and audits.

1. Product Development Collaboration

• Engage with the FinOps product engineering team to contribute innovative ideas and suggest feature enhancements.
  

• Customer-centric mindset: ability to understand customers financial goals and align cloud solutions accordingly.
• FinOps Expertise: Knowledge of FinOps principles and the Well-Architected Framework.
• Analytical Skills: Strong data-driven decision-making abilities.
• Experience: Minimum 2 years managing FinOps projects for large enterprises with a track record in million-dollar cost optimization.
• Cloud Financial Knowledge: In-depth understanding of cloud cost models, billing structures, and forecasting.
• Cloud Providers: Experience with AWS, Azure, and GCP, including workload usage patterns for cost optimization.
• Cloud Services Architecture: Strong grasp of best practices and commercial models.
• Cloud Spend Analytics: Hands-on experience with cloud optimization tools such as AWS Trusted Advisor, Cost Explorer, or similar third-party solutions.
• FinOps Certification: FinOps Certified Professional from the FinOps Foundation (preferred).
  

1. Cloud Cost Planning: Familiarity with pricing calculators for GCP, AWS, and Azure.
2. Billing & Reporting Tools: Experience with Google Cloud Billing Reports, AWS Cost Explorer, and Azure Cost Management.
3. Detailed Billing Analysis: Proficiency in data tools such as Data Studio, GitHub Solutions, AWS QuickSight, and Azure Power BI.
4. Recommendation Tools: Ability to use AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Advisor, and similar tools for cost-saving recommendations.
5. Cloud Monitoring & Insights: Experience with GCP Billing Health Checks, AWS CloudWatch, and Azure Monitor.
6. Third-Party Optimization Tools: Experience with tools like Economize, Spot, CloudHealth, Ternary, and Virtasant.
7. Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Proficiency in Terraform for provisioning and managing infrastructure.
