About The Role
As a
Finance Manager, Reuters News and Media, you will:
- Report directly to the CFO of Reuters News, while partnering closely with the Senior Director of Reuters Finance for global expenses, the Editorial Operations leadership team, and the Editorial bureau teams all over the world
- Be responsible for ensuring ongoing compliance with Thomson Reuters and Reuters cash compliance policies and procedures in all bureaus across the world, including establishing processes and controls and leading process improvement initiatives globally
- Responsible for ensuring the Reuters Bureaus have proper controls in place around books and records to make sure the Financial Statements are complete and accurate
- Sit in (remote via Microsoft Teams) on regular cash counts at various global bureaus on a monthly basis
- Review the monthly Cash reconciliation for each bureau location including checks on opening and closing balances, transaction detail backed up by receipts
- Review vendor payment methods and ensure these align with Thomson Reuters AP processes
- Ensure proper alignment with Thomson Reuters Travel & Entertainment expense policies across our global bureau locations
- Work closely with accounting/controllership teams on accurate posting of petty cash entries to the general ledger
- Lead regular refresher training sessions with global bureau chiefs and regional GMs on Reuters cash policies and procedures
- Provide monthly and quarterly report outs to the Reuters CFO and Editorial operations leadership team
- Work with Thomson Reuters Treasury team to ensure bureaus have adequate access to cash and bank accounts, in USD or local currency where needed
- Be the main liaison for Reuters with Thomson Reuters internal audit team
About You
As a
Finance Manager, Reuters News and Media you will have:
- Desired MBA, CPA, CA Qualifications or Qualified by experience.
- 10+ years of experience in corporate finance, accounting/audit, and/or financial compliance.
- Strong communicator.
- Self-starter, pro-active and independent worker.
- Significant experience business partnering with global senior leadership.
- Significant experience in project management accounting.
- Careful planning to achieve accurate and timely results.
- Eye for detail.
- Ability to work with Global Teams.
- Ability to manage multiple stakeholders.
- Self-motivated / Result oriented / Open to learning new technologies.
- Interpersonal Skill to Guide and Motivate your team members.
- Good Knowledge of MS office- Excel, Power Point.
- Knowledge of SAP, Financial Planning Tools - e.g., Hyperion, OneStream (desirable).
- Knowledge of automation and visualization tools VBA/Python/PowerBI/Tableau (desirable).
Desirable Experience
- Significant experience supporting a business division from a finance, accounting or financial compliance point of view and/or significant outside audit experience
- Significant experience in matrix project management reporting
- Significant experience business partnering with senior leadership globally, often remotely.
- Pro-active mindset seeking out information, solutions and implementing these in a timely manner.
