An engineering company in Mercer County is looking to fill a position for a Finance Manager.
Job Summary
The Finance Manager's role is to oversee and manage the organization's finances, with an emphasis on billing, accounts receivable, and collections
In addition, the Finance Manager will be responsible for ensuring the successful implementation of the Company's new ERP system, Deltek Vantagepoint
The primary responsibilities will include performance or oversight of the Company's accounting functions (including overseeing journal entries, maintaining the general ledgers, monthly and year-end closes), coordinating with auditors for the annual overhead audit, supporting outside accountants annual compilation of financial statements, and related tasks
Working closely with project managers, executives, and others, the finance manager provides accurate financial information and contributes to the company's overall success, with a particular focus on ensuring success of billing, accounts receivable, and collections.
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Oversees the daily workflow of the Senior Accountant - Billing
- Advises the Senior Accountant Billing to lead the billing team, supervise the billing/accounts receivable/collections process, and guide their professional development and training opportunities
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees day-to-day bookkeeping at the Company and makes recommendations for process improvements
- Takes primary responsibility for all accounting functions, including maintaining general ledger, payroll reconciliations, bank reconciliations, and related functions, performing the accounting functions when required and supervising others where required Manages the implementation of Deltek Vantagepoint and ensures successful operation of Vantagepoint post-implementation
- Oversees the billing department, providing guidance and direction to the Senior Accountant - Billing as needed
- Ensures timely and accurate billing and oversees the accounts receivable/collection process
- Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions and budget preparation and ensures compliance with the controls/guidelines, including making or reviewing accounting entries as required
- Oversees preparation of business activity reports, financial forecasts, and annual budgets, as needed
- Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Excellent management and supervisory skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Proficient in ERP systems such as Deltek Vantagepoint, Deltek Vision, or similar
Education And Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field required
- MBA or CPA certification is a plus
- Eight years or more of related experience required
