YOUR ROLE
You will be the primary finance resource responsible for completing Finance and Accounting activities of Genworth s India affiliate (GFIPL) to meet India and US GAAP requirements. Duties include providing guidance, advice and support to the GNW India entity and team; completing annual, monthly and daily finance and accounting processes and coordinating with outside vendors, auditors and government regulators on financial activities.
What you will be doing
- Review GFIPL transactions and ensure all tax activity is properly recorded.
- Complete monthly, quarterly and annual close processes.
- Ensure controls are properly executed and maintained.
- Complete annual budgeting and revenue processes.
- Maintain GNW India policies and procedures.
- Perform monthly analysis of GFIPL income statement and balance sheet.
- Review GFIPL monthly and quarterly account reconciliations.
- Support in country manager and GNW India team members on financial activities.
- Recommend and implement GFIPL process improvements for financial processes.
- Provide India TPA accounting team monthly support documentation as required.
- Coordinate activities of India TPA accounting team and India regulatory/tax authorities
- Liaise with US Finance team on company activities
- Lead India Statutory and Tax annual audits in coordination with India TPA accounting team.
- Participate in special projects and initiatives GNW India.
- Participate as a surge resource as needed.
What you bring
- Chartered Accountant with experience of at least 5 years in company financial processes
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent accounting experience
- Expertise in Goods and Service Tax, Income Tax Act, Companies Law and other relevant account areas
- Fluent English-speaking skills
- Familiarity with India country and local tax requirements
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
- Ability to manage multiple and changing priorities in a growth company environment
- Advanced Excel skills
