We are now seeking Field Service Engineer to perform on-site installation of systems and equipment and ongoing preventive maintenance, repair, and calibration after installation. On a worldwide basis, our engineers represent the company while servicing, troubleshooting and supervising repair of NOV equipment. They shall be proficient to make necessary repairs and minor corrections to systems as required and provide a high level of customer service for product maintenance and in-field repair.
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspection, installation, commissioning, repair, upgrading, troubleshooting and related service work on offshore drilling platforms, land rigs, Shipyard or in workshops.
- Liaise with rig's management during offshore assignment.
- Communicate with respective Managers for briefing and debriefing of service-related activities.
- Fill in necessary job reports, ISO work instructions and checklists required for all work in a timely manner.
- Interface with relevant departments to obtain a thorough understanding of NOV products and how they are safely operated, tested, calibrated and problems are resolved in a timely manner.
- Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
- Install, commission, troubleshoot, and repair NOV drilling equipment
- Provide training to other NOV personnel on the following systems and equipment as needed.
- Analog and digital PLC based systems
- Proprietary integrated control systems (Cyberbase, Amphion)
- Variable Frequency Drives
- Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems
- Electrical Systems (including various types of AC/DC motors)
Job Requirements/ Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 5+ years experience in a related field is most welcome.
- Travelling on short notice is required. approximately 50% travelling.
Technical Competencies:
- MS Office products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Project)
- Ability to understand electrical schematics and PLC programs. It will be advantageous if the candidate is well versed in hydraulic / mechanical systems and also have an in-depth knowledge of the of the Drilling Equipment designed by NOV.
- Preferred working experience in Reliability, Availability, Maintenance and Safety (RAMS) and application of FEMCAs (Failure Mode, Effects, and Criticality Analysis) strategies for predictive maintenance (PM) and corrective maintenance optimization.
