Executes all strategies, programs, and initiatives associated with the planning of service parts inventory for an NCR geographic region/area. Provisions materials in accordance with documented NCR Service Parts procedures.
Creates parts plans, places parts order, monitors back orders, expedites deliveries, and manages inventory levels in support of business requirements. Maintains targeted service level objectives through daily monitoring of service parts reports (e.g. LRI - Load Rate Index, Backorders etc)
Works in unison with the Country Central Warehouse (CCW) planners, Major Account planners and acts as the primary liaison for service parts availability issues between the Area Service Parts Manager (SPM) and various other organizations, including the NCR Services team (CEs, Territory Managers, Account Support) and, Logistics Coordinators,).
Performs planning and ordering functions for high dollar volume, highly sensitive or technical products/commodities ensuring that sufficient inventory is maintained to balance inventory investment with service level objectives.
Identifies analyses and proactively resolves problems or potential problems related to spare part availability, procurement, excess and obsolete material.
Utilizes the TSRP, Servilities and related planning /business tools in their daily tasks. Actively manages the various planning systems to ensure accuracy of databases.
Daily verbal and written communication with Global Inventory Management, Order Management, Inventory Control, Finance, Distribution Operations, Procurement, and other Service Parts teams to ensure problem minimisation and beneficial long term support objectives.
Develops and implements strategies to meet the objectives of the Service Parts organisation. Drives improvements in service parts availability, whilst meeting inventory target turns, load rate and net inventory targets.
Interfaces and works with various other departments and divisions within the Service Parts organisation to ensure that the policies, long term, and global view of actions, as it relates to inventory management, is recognized, and addressed to the mutual benefit of the Service Parts organisation. Internal contacts include Distribution Operations to ensure a smooth flow of service parts, receiving to ensure supplier conformance to quality and delivery specification, production control and related rework departments to ensure effective use of defective inventory and to maintain a flow of detail parts.
The incumbent typically is a candidate in the designated successor plan, which may, at times, act in a Project Leader or working supervisor capacity for the incumbents immediate Manager. This individual is considered a key contributor to management in the Asia Pacific Region.
Prepares and delivers various analysis and presentations to staff level management as well as to upper management of internal and external suppliers.
Responsible for identifying information about assigned products/commodities which may lead to exposure to the corporation. Provides management with alternatives and potential solutions. Takes corrective action where appropriate
