Role Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Merchandiser to join our fashion brand team. This role involves vendor coordination, fabric ordering, dyeing processes, sourcing trims, and managing fabric stock. The ideal candidate will ensure our product lines are executed efficiently and creatively while maintaining strong vendor relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Vendor Coordination: Establish and maintain relationships with fabric and trim vendors.

Communicate order requirements, timelines, and quality standards.

Fabric Ordering: Place orders for materials, ensuring timely delivery. Good knowledge of fabrics-knits and woven.

Dyeing Management: Oversee fabric dyeing processes, ensuring color accuracy and quality.

Collaborate with dye houses to execute custom colors as needed.

Trim Sourcing: Identify and source trims that complement designs and enhance product appeal.

Negotiate pricing and terms with trim suppliers.

Fabric Stock Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels of fabrics and trims.

Maintain organized records of stock and usage.

Production Tracking: Keep track of production schedules and timelines to ensure timely delivery of products.

Collaborate with production teams to resolve any issues that arise during manufacturing.

Finishing Oversight: Coordinate finishing processes to ensure high-quality end products.

Work closely with production teams to align on finishing requirements.

Line Sheet Development:

Create and maintain comprehensive line sheets for seasonal collections.

Ensure accuracy in product descriptions, pricing, and availability.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Fashion Merchandising/ Textile design, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in merchandising or fabric sourcing within the fashion industry.
  • Strong knowledge of various fabrics and their characteristics.
  • Excellent negotiation skills for pricing and terms.
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and inventory management software.
