Qualifications:
Education: A minimum of a Bachelor degree in interior design, architecture, or a closely related field. Some institutions may require a terminal degree (Ph.D.) for higher-level positions.
Industry Experience: Significant professional experience in the field of interior design, with a portfolio demonstrating expertise and a strong understanding of design principles, building codes, and industry standards.
Teaching Experience: Prior experience teaching interior design courses at the college or university level is typically preferred. Experience with curriculum development and assessment is also advantageous.
Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to effectively interact with students, colleagues, and industry professionals.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite. Familiarity with 3D modeling, rendering, and visualization tools is often beneficial.
