JOB DESCRIPTION OF FACTORY MANAGER
- Forecasting capacity of factories that includes styles, number of lines for the next six months period.
- Coordinating with merchandisers to receive order for the total capacity of the factory.
- Ensure men, machine and materials are available to run the factory effectively.
- Audit processes and systems periodically to identify areas for improvement.
- Review the production/cutting plan received from Production/Cutting Manager. Based on the availability of material in-house, and amendments received from the merchandisers, suggest to revise the plan for effective utilization of planned capacity.
- Review the technical setting/machine layout as per the order requirements and suggest improved methods to achieve optimum cost of production.
- To monitor day to day activities like daily production review meeting, T.O.P submission, PP meeting, and inspections as per schedule.
- Plan for skill development of existing manpower to meet changes in styles.
- Ensure fabric/cut parts/trims/ accessories stock and determine stock for number of production days as per production plan. If only a week's production or less than that available, coordinate with concerned department to fix solutions.
- Conduct weekly meetings with PM/APM/Cutting Manager/Asst. Manager-Stores/Merchandiser/Packing/Warehouse Manager. (Refer to meeting agenda).
- Check whether the finished goods are kept ready for the inspection as per the inspection plan for the next day. Deviations are to be reported to FM/GM (Quantity).
- Review cost reports daily and devise methods to meet budgeted cost.
- Give stock report on finished goods, WIP, rejected goods, stores, fabric and cut parts in cutting department through the designated software daily. Monthly stock report containing stock of last working day to be prepared in excel sheet and passed onto accounts department through mail.
- To prepare the order completion report of the completed OCN as per the format within three days of dispatch and submit via mail to GM/FM/CEO. (This report to be designed). Saved fabric/trims/accessories to be passed on to merchandising/ Fabric Manager and initiate stock transfer.
- Submit report on actual dispatch status against plan by 5th of every month to FM/GM as per the format in the production manual.
- Interact with team members frequently (Everyday), give solutions for problems-bottle necks, cross verify for effectiveness of solution provided. This is one way to motivate your team.
