- Job Description & Responsibilities
Maintaining and troubleshooting audio, video, and lighting equipment- Preparing and positioning audio, video and lighting equipment for broadcasts and recordings
Setting up and installing microphones, lights, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras.
- Connecting, tuning, and configuring AV setups to ensure high-quality broadcasting.
Operating software to control AV technologies.- Preparing teleprompters with scripts
Meeting with Event Coordinatorsto discuss audio, lighting, and video requirements.
- Monitoring live feeds to ensure quality.
Finding effective meansto store and transport AV equipment as and when it is needed.- Running tests on videos, audio, and signals and troubleshooting any problemsthat arise.
Conducting sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment.
- Operating sound and visual equipment during live events.
Laying electrical and sound cables.- Inspecting mountings and electrical equipment to ensure they conform to health and safety regulations.
Troubleshooting equipment and ensuring events run smoothly.
- Disassembling equipment, wiring, and support tools in a safe manner.
Performing inventory management on equipment, wiring, and accessories.- Carrying out any cleaning, maintenance, or repairs on audiovisual equipment.
Transporting,setting up, and installing media equipment and audiovisual support tools,including speakers, monitors
Bachelor's degree in sound engineering or a similar field.
- Technical understanding of AV and IT systems
Up-to-date awareness of AV technologies and their features- Expertise in video conferencing and broadcast systems
Extensive knowledge of the architectural, cabling, and control system requirements of AV technologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft office.

- Audio Visual Technician Requirements:
An associate or bachelor's degree in audio visual technology or a related field.
- In-depth working knowledge of sound, video, camera, and lighting techniques.
Strong working knowledge of audiovisual editing equipment and software.- Familiarity with computers and IP Networking Systems.
Advanced knowledge of modern filming and sound mixing techniques.
- Excellent computer and troubleshooting skills.
Creativity, attention to detail, and flexibility.- Previous experience working as an AV technician.
A keen eye for detail.
- High level of physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy equipment.
Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.- The ability to sit or stand for long periods of time.
