Position Title: Expat for Commissioning and Startup for Various units of Smelter and Rolled Products

Location: Balco, Chhattisgarh, India

Employment Type: Full Time Employment Contract

Department: Expansion Project

Position Overview:

The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the commissioning and startup of a state-of-the-art aluminium smelter and rolled products plant. This role requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in aluminium production, keen technical expertise, and strong leadership abilities to guide the project from commissioning to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

Commissioning & Startup Leadership: Oversee and manage the entire commissioning and startup process for the aluminium smelter and rolled products facilities, ensuring all systems and equipment function effectively and meet performance specifications.

Project Management: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineering, operations, and safety, to ensure seamless integration and adherence to project timelines.

Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on smelting and rolling processes, troubleshooting technical issues, and optimizing operational efficiency.

Quality Assurance: Implement and uphold quality control standards throughout the commissioning and startup phases to ensure product and process quality.

Compliance & Safety: Ensure all activities comply with local regulations, industry standards, and company safety policies, fostering a safe working environment.

Team Training & Development: Lead training programs for local teams, transferring knowledge and skills to ensure long-term operational success.

Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with equipment vendors, contractors, and stakeholders to resolve issues and ensure smooth project execution.

Reporting & Documentation: Maintain detailed documentation of commissioning and startup activities, providing regular updates to senior management.

Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in aluminium smelting and/or rolled products production, with significant exposure to commissioning and startup phases.

Technical Skills: Deep understanding of aluminium smelting processes, rolling operations, and related technologies.

Project Management: Proven track record of managing large-scale industrial projects, preferably in the aluminium sector.

Leadership: Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to motivate and guide diverse teams.

Problem-Solving: Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a focus on continuous improvement.

Communication: Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working with cross-functional teams and international stakeholders.

Adaptability: Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, with a readiness to adapt to different cultural and operational contexts.

Education: Bachelor's degree in metallurgical engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications are a plus.
